Event Details
SYO presents an unmissable concert that scales the heights of high-octane energy, glamour and exoticism. Move through the creative imaginations of Rimsky-Korsakov in his sumptuous Sheherazade, Bernstein’s emotionally charged dances from West Side Story, through to the internationally renowned Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin. Come along for the exciting world premiere as she explores the glittering brilliance of percussion in her first-ever percussion concerto Golden Kitsch, commissioned specially for SYO Alumnus Claire Edwardes and the SYO.
The Sydney Youth Orchestra is the flagship orchestra of the Sydney Youth Orchestras family. It represents nearly 100 of Sydney's most talented musicians aged up to 25 years.
Featured non-Australian music: Rimsky-Korsakov, Bernstein
