AMPlify TRANCE

In October 2015, experienced art music composers/creative musicians were invited to submit an expression of interest, for a unique opportunity to work with trance artist MaRLo, as a part of the Australian Music Centre's artist development framework, AMPlify. The artist selected for this program, Piotr Nowotnik, writes about his collaboration with MaRLo on the AMC's Resonate magazine.

AMPlify TRANCE - background and further details

AMPlify TRANCE aims to provide an opportunity for an art music composer with professional experience and standing to work with a Trance producer/artist, creating new work for live presentation, with the potential for publishing and recording outcomes.

This initiative is an edition of the Australian Music Centre’s AMPlify (Art Music Plus) AMPlify framework, which provides creative development opportunities for artists to create new works, and to reach new audiences. AMPlify projects are based on the concept of cross-genre and/or cross-artform collaborations.

AMPlify TRANCE is supported through SongHubs, an APRA AMCOS project which partners Australian creators with international collaborators to create new works.

Applicants must be a member of APRA AMCOS, and a financial member of AMC. The participant is to be identified through a call for expressions of interest, with applicants pitching an idea of how they would exploit such an opportunity. An external panel appointed by AMC will assist in compiling a shortlist of EOIs, which is then presented to the Trance artist/producer MaRLo to select the participant.

Travel costs, accommodation, and a per diem for the selected participant will be covered by the project partners. A commission fee will be negotiated based on work/s proposed.
