2012 Screen Music Awards: nominees announced

Nominees for the 2012 Screen Music Awards have been announced. The list of nominees for the 12 award categories include Roger Mason (nominated for Best Music for a Short Film - for music for This Dog's Life and Best Music for Children's Television - for music for My Place: 'Sarah'), Haydn Walker (Best Music for an Advertisement), Leah Curtis (Best Original Song Composed for the Screen, for 'Animula Vagula' from Exitus Roma), Burkhard Dallwitz (Best Soundtrack Album and Best Music for TV Series, for Underbelly Razor), Lisa Gerrard (Feature Film Score of the Year, for Burning Man), Nerida Tyson-Chew (Feature Film Score of the Year, for Santa's Apprentice), Michael Yezerski & Richard Tognetti (Feature Film Score of the Year, for Storm Surfers 3D), David Hirschfelder (Most Performed Screen Composer - Overseas), and Ric Formosa / Ricky Edwards (Most Performed Screen Composer - Overseas). The award-winners will be announced at the Screen Music Awards event in Melbourne on Monday 19 November. The ceremony will be jointly staged by Australasian Performing Right Association APRA and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers AGSC. For the sixth year, the evening's program will feature a live orchestra (conducted by Paul Grabowsky), performing a selection of nominated compositions.
