Art Facts website launched

Art Facts website launched

The Australia Council has launched a new digital resource Art Facts - an interactive website that brings together statistics and research from across the music sector in Australia. In addition to studying facts and figures on offer, Art Facts users can share their findings, leave comments and 'like' interesting content.

The website, divided into five categories (arts creation, industry, participation, global trade and industry support) draws on data collected by the Australia Council, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and other sources throughout the sector. A visitor can, for instance, go to the 'arts creation' section in order to find out more about Australian composers and songwriters - their geographic distribution, their age, their income, and number of new works composed nationwide each year.

Music is the first sector to be featured in the Art Facts project. The website will grow to include key facts about all artforms, and the sector overall, throughout 2013.
