ArtStart application deadline: October 26

Grants for recent creative arts graduates

ArtStart application deadline: October 26

The first round of applications for Australia Council for the Arts' new grants program for recent creative arts graduates is closing on Monday 26 October. Designed to provide financial assistance to help emerging artists establish a professional arts practise or gain employment as an artist, ArtStart grants of up to $10,000 can fund services, resources and activities that help graduate artists to build an income-generating career in the arts practise they have studied.

You are eligible to apply if you have graduated from accredited artist training in the last 3 years or if you will graduate prior to the start date for each round. An artist can receive only one ArtStart grant in their career.

If you are not going to make this initial deadline there is another round of ArtStart grants closing on March 8, 2010 for projects starting in June of that year.

For further information, or to apply, visit the Australia Council ArtStart page (http://www.australiacouncil.gov.au/grants/grants/artstart6).

One little hint: Take the time to read through the Frequently Asked Questions section for some helpful hints on applying and what the grant money can be used for!

Australian Music Centre connects people around the world to Australian composers and sound artists. By facilitating the performance, awareness and appreciation of music by these creative artists, it aims to increase their profile and the sustainability of their art form. Established in 1974, the AMC is now the leading provider of information, resources, materials and products relating to Australian new music.
