Bridget Elliot's series of photo essays about Brett Dean's and Amanda Holden's new opera Bliss is now complete. The four essays, available on the AMC website, are complemented by articles by Brett Dean, Amanda Holden and Michael Halliwell, focusing on the composer's and the librettist's work and the journey of Bliss from the novel by Peter Carey into an opera libretto.

The long-awaited premiere of Bliss took place in Sydney on 12 March. After the Sydney season, the opera will be performed in Melbourne in April/May and the same production will later travel to Europe to the Edinburgh International Festival in September. A new production is being planned in Germany, where the work will be conducted by Simone Young at the Hamburg Staatsoper in September 2010.
