Leah Curtis wins at Hollywood Music and Media Awards
Leah Curtis's music 'Salamun Salam' for the film To Rest in Peace has won the Best World Music award at the annual Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Curtis was also nominated for Best Original Score (Indie, Short or Documentary).
'I lost to Christophe Beck (Waiting for Superman, The Hangover) and was delighted to be in the same category!' Curtis said.
'Salamun Salam' (Arabic for Peace of Peace) can be listened to online. To Rest in Peace, directed by Fawaz al-Matrouk, is inspired by a true story about a Kuwaiti man who walks past dead bodies day after day, and, out of the respect for humanity, decides to bury the bodies himself. The film's premiere will take place at the Dubai International Film Festival in December.
