The Australian Music Centre is delighted to announce the appointment of three new Directors to serve on the AMC Board.

Deborah Cheetham, Yorta Yorta woman, soprano, composer and educator, has been a familiar voice in the Australian arts landscape for more than 25 years. She is Associate Dean, Music, at the University of Melbourne, and the driving force behind Short Black Opera Company.

Brad Cohen is a musician, working internationally as a conductor, technological innovator, and publisher. He is the Founder of the immersive music platform Tido, and is Artistic Director of the West Australian Opera.

Martel Ollerenshaw is an experienced and successful arts manager and creative producer, with diverse experience as an innovator, fundraiser, and producer of complex cross-artform and cross-genre projects, including professional development projects for artists particularly in jazz.

They bring a considerable range of expertise and skills, and we look forward to their contribution to the work of the Centre.

The AMC Board is also seeking Expressions of Interest from other candidates with particular expertise and experience to serve on the Board, and assist in the organisation achieving its goals. Expertise could include:

  • Online business skills, in publishing or retail operations; digital strategy
  • Business strategy development
  • Particular expertise in the art music or related sectors relating to audience development or stakeholder engagement, marketing, and communications
