Two new opportunities in February
Aphids: Choose Your Own Adventure
'Choose Your Own Adventure' program has been set up by the Melbourne-based Aphids organisation to assist young and emerging artists working within new music and/or interdisciplinary practice to undertake professional and creative development on a national or international level.
The proposals should be for one of the following:
1) a national or international residency with a host organisation with a focus on new music and/or interdisciplinary art practice
2) a mentorship with a professional artist working in new music or cross-art form practice
3) the development and creation of an interdisciplinary arts project for guidance and mentoring by Aphids
The program includes a cash contribution and tailored mentoring by Aphids. This opportunity is for young and emerging Australian artists. Deadline for applications is 26 February - for full details, please see the Aphids website
WAAPA Composer in Residence
Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts is looking for a composer in residence for 2009. This is a position suited for composers of electronic or acoustic music who would like to benefit from the facilities at WAAPA. This is an unpaid position with benefits in the form of office space and PC with suitable programs; access to WAAPA labs and recording studios, library and online facilities; opportunities to work with WAAPA performers and composers; collaborative opportunities with film, dance, theatre, electronic arts and video games; opportunities to perform your works in the WAAPA concert programs.
Expressions of interest, including a CV and statement about why you would like this opportunity should be sent to WAAPA/Cat Hope by 23 February.
