The Australian String Quartet is calling for applications from undergraduate and postgraduate composition students and emerging composers for its 2013 National Composers' Forum. The Quartet's bi-annual National Composers' Forum supports the development of six emerging Australian composers who wish to hone their skills in writing for string quartet.

Successful applicants will be invited to travel to Adelaide to participate in a three-day forum led by composer in residence, Andrew Ford, and will have the opportunity to have their original composition workshopped, performed and recorded by the Australian String Quartet.

The Forum will take place on 15-17 October 2013 in partnership with the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide. Forum events are open to admission for all applicants. Applications close Friday 26 July 2013, full schedule will be available in early September. For more information, guidelines and application forms, please visit the ASQ website.
