PAMC Grand Final broadcast

The Grand Final concert of the 2008 Performing Australian Music Competition (PAMC) will be broadcast on Saturday on ABC Classic FM. Six talented musicians performed  Australian works in the final concert, recorded at Australia House in London. The broadcast will take place on Saturday 7 February at 8pm as part of Classic FM's In Performance program.

The performers and their chosen Australian repertoire:
Marco Pop Ristov (Macedonia, 1st prize), violin: Peter Sculthorpe – Irkanda I; Sadie Harrison – In Father’s Orchard.
Elena Xanthoudakis (Australia), soprano; Charlotte Forrest, piano: Ron MacKenzie – The Presences; Peggy Glanville-Hicks – Come Sleep; Horace Keats – O deep and dewy hour; Keith Humble – selected Cabaret Songs; Percy Grainger – The Sprig of Thyme.
Jacob Cordover (Australia), guitar: Ross Edwards – Blackwattle Caprices; Phillip Houghton – Stele: I ('Stele') & II ('Dervish').
Mi Zhou (China), cello; Daniel Tong, piano: Julian Yu – Dovetailing, Op 29; Don Kay – The Legend of Moinee: II 'Love Voice of Moinee'.
Yvonne Paterson (Scotland, 2nd prize), flute; Scott Mitchell, piano: Brenton Broadstock – Aureole I; Ross Edwards – Nura: II, Earth Dance.
Eleanor Smith (Australia), piano: Margaret Sutherland – Chiaroscuro II; Carl Vine – Piano Sonata No 2: 2nd movt.

A full list of prizes and winners is available on the competition's AMC website. The concert was recorded in April 2008 at Australia House, London.
