Queen's Birthday Honours: Ann Carr-Boyd
The 2017 Queen's Birthday Honours have recognised composer Ann Carr-Boyd for her 'significant service to the performing arts and classical music as a composer, pianist, teacher and musicologist'. Carr-Boyd was appointed Member (AM) of the Order of Australia.
Artists recognised for their contribution to music also included conductor Nicolette Fraillon, harpist Alice Giles, Jody Heald (for services to music education in Tasmania) and violinist Dene Olding, among others.
