Yantra de
Vilder is a
composer and sound artist specialising in film, TV, dance and
theatre. Her compositions have been broadcast on the national
television networks as well as internationally. She has worked
for the BBC as a composer and music consultant on projects in
London, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Burma. The Australia Council,
The Ministry of the Arts and the Multicultural Arts Alliance have
awarded grants to Yantra in support of her music, and she has
been nominated for and received numerous industry awards,
including the 2015 APRA award for composition. Yantra has
recently completed her doctorate in creative arts, research
focusing on "The Search for The Artistic Moment", the moment that
goes beyond time and personality, through creative endeavours.
She is on the board of directors of the Australian Guild of
Screen Composers and on the committee for Gender Equity for
screen composers. Yantra creates a sound that has been described
as ambient, world groove.

Research:
4 years research for Doctorate in Creative Arts - Title of
thesis- Towards the Artistic Moment: A personal Exploration at
the Nexus of Improvised Inter-disciplinary and Cross- Cultural
Collaborative Performance.
My particular interest is the point of intersection - and as such
I am exploring and interpreting collaboration and the artistic
moment within the nexus of inter-disciplinary and cross cultural
arts practices.
