Australian Music on ABC Classic FM in April 2011 by Somaya Langley
As autumn arrives in the Southern Hemisphere, we’re bringing to you a range of concerts to accompany your busy schedule or as you curl up on the couch. Beginning the month with live broadcasts from the Adelaide International Cello Festival, you’ll also be able to listen to concerts recorded at festivals held last year including the Canberra International Music Festival, the Huntington Estate Music Festival, the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival and a very 10th anniversary Speak Percussion concert which opened the MONA FOMA festival in Hobart, earlier this year.
Australian Music on ABC Classic FM in May 2011 by Somaya Langley
This month tune into ABC Classic FM for a range of live-to-air broadcasts, including the 2011 Musica Viva Festival with works by Ian Munro and a world premiere by Graeme Koehne. May also features a range of Brett Dean's works and ten works presented by the Melbourne Composers' League in a concert recorded in November 2008.
Finally, for the outcomes of the 2011 Art Music Awards, presented by the Australian Music Centre and the Australasian Performing Rights Association, tune into New Music Up Late on Saturday 7th May for all the details.

This month we bring to you four brand-new world premieres, including Peter Sculthorpe’s String Quartet No 18, Damien Barbeler’s Treatise on Light, James Ledger’s Processions and a symphony by Gordon Kerry. Also in store, a smattering of Australian works throughout the Sunday Live afternoon concerts in June, including Sandy Evans’s Indian Project, broadcast direct from the Eugene Goosens Hall at the ABC in Ultimo.

This month we bring you three world premieres from West-Australian composers: Iain Grandage's Blackwood, and James Ledger's Johann has left the building and his bassoon concerto Outposts. The Tom Vincent Trio play an all Tom Vincent Sunday Live concert in Hobart, presented by ABC Classic FM. Our special event for the month is New Music Up Late’s hosting of the Sydney leg of the 12th Liquid Architecture festival at the Eugene Goossens Hall at the ABC Ultimo Centre in two concerts on Saturday 2 July (4pm and 7.30pm).
