Mary Mainsbridge is a composer and performer with interests in interactive environments, developing new digital musical instruments and presenting performances that focus on expanding the movement potential of the body. She has performed nationally and internationally as a solo artists and with live electronic ensemble, Deprogram. International performances include the BZoom Digital Arts Festival, Czech Republic, Pohoda Festival, Slovakia and the London Institute of Contemporary Art, London, and Kulturampe, Krefeld, Germany.

In the past decade, Mainsbridge has focused on designing motion-based controllers and instruments instruments to deliver improvised performances with digital media, voice and piano. Her orchestral work, Concentric Motion: Concerto for Voice, Piano and Gestural Controller, was shortlisted in the innovative category of the International Space Time Concerto competition (2012). Building on this work, she continues to research the intersection between voice and technology, designing augmented vocal applications that allowed her to study the relationship between a performer's physical language and gestures and their phrasing, tone production and lyrical expression.

She has also developed and presented audio-visual performance and installation works for Electrofringe, Sydney Fringe Festival, Underbelly Arts Festival and installations for interactive media events including the Vivid Festival, Beams Laneways Festival and the Art Bar at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Sydney. Public arts installations like Velocimixer and Vendome invite participants to experiment with new ways of moving and interacting with music and each other by directly mixing and layering sound and video projections with improvised body movement.

Mainsbridge has released four albums and multiple singles on compilations for electronic arts collectives including Clan Analogue and Provenance.
