ACO Underground makes its Inner West debut at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville with a genre-defying performance.

The band plays acoustic and electric instruments and performs wild sets that stretch from Bach and Sibelius to Bryce Dessner and Neil Finn. Vänskä and her 1728 Stradivarius violin are joined by Violent Femmes bassist Brian Ritchie, guitarist Jim Moginie from Midnight Oil, and Synergy Percussion’s Timothy Constable. The line-up is completed by ACO Artistic Director and violinist Richard Tognetti, violinist Glenn Christensen, cellist Julian Thompson, violist Christopher Moore, double bassist Maxime Bibeau, and Joseph Nizeti on electronics.

Directed by Satu Vänskä, this multi-faceted program sprints through centuries of music where the expected and unexpected collide in a unique sound world.

8pm | Doors open | DJ Jonny Seymour and Paul Mac (stereogamous)
9pm | ACO Underground Performance (duration 60 minutes)

Featured non-Australian music: Saariaho, Bach, Sibelius, Finn, Webern, Nine Inch Nails et al.
