Event Details

Bass Recorder virtuoso Alicia Crossley has challenged outstanding young composers to create groundbreaking works that would push the instrument’s limits and be cornerstones to a renaissance of the bass recorder in the 21st century. The challenge, presented to composers Andrew Batt-Rawden, Alex Pozniak, Tristan Coelho, Mark Oliveiro, Hayden Woolf, Chris Williams and Elias Constantopedos, has resulted in a variety of aesthetics – solo fractured impulsive acoustic, pulsating industrial-inspired electroacoustic as well as light traditionalist chamber music.

Performers: Alicia Crossley (recorder), as well as Anna Fraser (voice), Joshua Hill (percussion), Victoria Jacono-Gilmovich (viola), Ben Carey (Electronics) and Vatche Jambazian (piano).
