A brand new cantata for Advent 2017 by Australian composer Dan Walker, after the working practice of J.S Bach, the composer who wrote three cycles of cantatas week after week for the churches of Weimar and Leipzig. Dan Walker's new work features gorgeous historical and contemporary texts, sung by the Choir of St James' St James Singers, Leichhardt Espresso Chorus, and played by Bach Band at St James.
Please join us for a peek inside the composer's working practice, and the world premiere of what is sure to be a beautiful addition to the repertoire of Advent Cantatas for the liturgical (and philosophical) year. Admission to the Bach Cantata Series is free. These are Cantata performances in a liturgical setting.
