ALAMKARA [Sanskrit: ornamented, decorative poetic beauty] will feature the Western flute, piano and vibraphone in a fusion ensemble with the tabla, with pieces by Ravi Shankar, Gareth Farr, Valerie Ross and Robbie Belgrade. As a special treat, Owen Colman (bansuri) and Jay Dabgar (tabla) will present a traditional Indian improvisation with a pre-performance introduction.
