Event Details
The Alastair Kerr Quartet start their Tasmanian tour at the Stage Door Cafe. With Marc Hannaford, Pat Thiele and Sam Zerna.
The Alastair Kerr Quartet is the latest project from the drummer and composer; a distinctly Australian sound, but clearly influenced by his love of Brazilian and Cuban music. The Quartet plays many of Kerr's compositions as well as compositions from other band members, and some rare gems from Cuba, Brazil and New Orleans.
Kerr was born and raised in Tasmania before going on to study at the Canberra School of Music. He has spent the last few years performing and teaching in Melbourne, appearing with a range of well known artists such as Dave Rex, Julian Wilson, Frock, Mark Fitzgibbon and Carlos Ferreira.
