The last two, Fit and Far Flung have been voted in the top Jazz/Impro releases for 2009 and 2013 in both WIRE magazine and Jazz Journal (UK).
The trio has performed at festivals and venues around the globe including, Tokyo Jazz Festival, International Festival de Jazz de Montreal, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Chelsea Festival, Vilnius Jazz Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival and Wangaratta Jazz Festival.
Their collective biographies and discographies are astonishing, involving performances and recordings with luminaries, Dewey Redman, Barre Phillips, Brian Eno, Archie Roach, Jim O’Rourke, Karaikudi Mani, Paul Capsis and Ed Kuepper.
Alister’s latest release Everything Here Is Possible, a duo with Myra Melford (US) has recently been awarded a 2014 APRA/AMCOS Art Music Award for ‘Excellence in Jazz’
Casey Golden Trio After five years of working closely as a trio, Outliers represents the first true artistic statement on record from these three young musicians.
‘We’re really proud of the new record because more than anything else, it shows our connection as a band. I think the relationship and trust that we’ve built over the last five years comes across in the music and it’s great to finally have an accurate document of a band that we’ve put so much time and effort into’
Casey Golden Trio will be on stage at 8.30pm followed by a party/hang/jam provided by some great Sydney musicians. So come down for some brand new original music and stick around for a drink with us afterwards.
