Spellbinding and original, Alister Spence Trio is one of the most exciting trios in contemporary Australian music today. The energy and interplay generated between the players is transporting. Their recently released live CD received 4 stars in Jazzwise and has been described as ‘stunning.’
The trio have released 6 CDs and twice been nominated for Best Jazz Album at the ARIA Awards (2004, 2007). They tour regularly nationally and internationally performing at festivals and venues such as Tokyo Jazz Festival, International Festival de Jazz de Montreal, Vancouver Jazz Festival, Chelsea Festival (UK), Vilnius Jazz Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Wangaratta Jazz Festival.
Their collective biographies and discographies are extensive, and involve performances and recordings with diverse luminaries such as Dewey Redman, Barre Phillips, Brian Eno, Archie Roach, Jim O’Rourke, Myra Melford, Paul Capsis and Ed Kuepper and the Laughing Clowns.

Matt McMahon is a multi-award winning pianist from Sydney. The Matt McMahon Trio featuring Jono Brown (bass) and Simon Barker (drums) have been improvising together for seventeen years - drawing on their love of music from everywhere. Matt's compositions focus on allowing musical conversations to be the centrepiece of their performances.
