Event Details
The dynamic young American conductor, Eugene Tzigane makes his Australian debut in one of the 20th century’s great orchestral showpieces - Bartók’s virtuosic Concerto for Orchestra. Also, we celebrate Australian composer Peter Sculthorpe’s 85th birthday with a pair of beautifully atmospheric orchestral works inspired by the Australian sea and landscape. The ASO is joined by cellist Alban Gerhardt in Dvořák’s much-loved Cello Concerto written in the composer’s autumnal years during his tenure at New York’s National Conservatory
Featured non-Australian music: Dvorák, Bartók
