Event Details

The Australian String Quartet’s 2011 season is full of music to delight, challenge and inspire, bringing you a year of well-loved masterpieces, little known treasures and compelling recent works.

The first concert, Shaker Dances, sees internationally renowned cellist Li-Wei lending his virtuosic technique and musical insight to quintets by Boccherini and Glazunov. Both works are very different in sound and spirit but both richly demonstrate the marvellous added depth and power which a second cello brings to the string quartet.

Featured non-Australian music: Boccherini, Shostakovich, Glazunov
