Event Details
Sound and audio-visual works on themes of the walk, exploring and creating environments, and dislocation. The idea of niche construction (by living and artificial-life forms) leads to images and sounds beyond those discoverable in our own present environments. These sounds can contribute to a dislocation of person or form, sometimes in conjunction with enforced environments (as in human trafficking). The event includes new works by austraLYSIS members, including sound and video from Australia and from our collaboration with US artist Will Luers, a new member of austraLYSIS. These will be complemented by works from Xenakis and Dhomont.
Featured non-Australian music: Xenakis, Dhomont
