Event Details

Sydney-based saxophonist, composer, technologist Ben Carey will in this program perform three new works for solo saxophone and live electronics. Included in the program will be two world premières by Australian composers Mark Oliveiro and Ben Carey, as well an Australian première by American composer Dan Tramte. Melbourne-based Chi-Uro were formed in 2010 by Kim Tan (flute) and Samuel Dunscombe (clarinet) and are committed to staging rarely performed new works and commissioning works from Australian composers. In their first visit to Sydney the concert will feature Salvatore Sciarrino - muro d'orizzonte for Flute, Cor Anglais, Bass Clarinet; Kaija Saariaho - Noa Noa for Flute and Electronics; Isang Yun - Piri - for solo oboe and Samuel Dunscombe - New Work for flute clarinet and electronics.
