Event Details

Andrew Butt Trio + will perform works from their 2017 release Blueberry Ash. The Queensland Music Award nominated album is comprised of themes inspired by Brisbane and its surrounds featuring prominent members of Queensland’s jazz community.

Andrew is an award-winning performer, composer and educator with accolades including a Queensland Music Award, a Churchill Fellowship and performing as a jazz soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. He has toured throughout Australia and internationally to Indonesia, Fiji, New Zealand, China, Europe and North America and has studied with a diverse range of artists including Tony Hobbs, George Garzone, Chris Cheek, Bill McHenry and Branford Marsalis.

The Aaron Jansz Trio

Utilising the classic guitar trio setting the band will navigate originals and arrangements of lesser known standards. The band sound emphasises all elements of music and utilizes cross genre vocabulary.

Aaron Jansz is a graduate of the Jazz Music Institute (JMI), Brisbane. Since graduating Aaron has gone on to establish himself as an integral part of the Brisbane Jazz scene and also managed to keep a busy schedule as an educator.

This event will be held in collaboration with Brisbane Original Jazz Artists Co-op (BOJAC) which is an artist led community which is focussed on showcasing original jazz music in Brisbane.
