Event Details
The Kasba Trio, returning home from New York, presents an evening of dark romance.
First on the program is the youthful, luscious Piano Trio no.1 by Johannes Brahms, and after the interval, the trio is joined by soprano Susannah Lawergren to give the world premiere of The Mermaid, a new chamber opera by Sydney-born composer Andrew Howes.
The Mermaid, composed in 2017, tells the story of a woman who struggles with love, death, and the destructive relationship cycles that define her life.
Featured non-Australian music: Brahms
