Event Details

The Sydney Guitar Trio, comprising Raffaele and Janet Agostino and the acclaimed guitarist-composer Richard Charlton, gave its inaugural concert in1996 and has since performed extensively around Australia and toured internationally to Argentina, England and Italy.

Their CD, “One Hour To Madness and Joy” features compositions written for the group by Australian composers Phillip Houghton, Richard Charlton, Roland Chadwick, Allan Holley and Amanda Handel. The trio’s collaboration with Rory O’Donoghue extends over ten years, beginning with Rory’s compelling narration of Richard Charlton’s “The Divine Guitar” on the trio’s CD.

Janet Agostino will give a pre concert talk at 4.30 on the music of Richard Charlton and Phillip Houghton.

Featured non-Australian music: CLAUDE GAGNON, Alice in Wonderland (text by Lewis Carroll)
