The late night escape for the Festival, the Club program features a Western Australian Showcase presented in association with WAM and curated by Sam Gillies.

H+ [Jacob Rutherford] is an 18-year-old producer of ambient-noise born in Perth, Australia. Currently studying the Diploma of Sound Production at the SAE Institute he has consistently been broadening and improving his talents in multiple areas of sound manipulation. Releasing his debut EP through Sydney-based label Wood & Wire, an offshoot of the New Weird Australia label, he has shown great promise and interest in the idea of melding electronic music with philosophical concepts. Young Rutherford has already been likened to Aphex Twin by reviewers and is well on his way to becoming a figure in experimental music on a local and national scale.

Chris Arnold has been experimenting with electronic music since 1998. He’s performed solo since 1999, and sold out a limited, homemade techno album in 2001. Whether composed or experimental, his work is rooted in its sound design. He writes poetry, and now uses poetry performance as an additional source in his sound work. Chris is also a software engineer, so over the last two years his method has extended to custom human interface design, allowing him to abuse mathematics in new ways to construct sound.

The West Australian Showcase is presented in association with WAM and supported by the State Government of Western Australia through the Contemporary Music Fund of the Department of Culture and the Arts.
