Event Details
Tura New Music’s Club Zho ventures upstairs to Babushka Leederville for a celebration of Australian improvisation. Melbourne based Peter Knight, Artistic Director of the Australian Art Orchestra, brings about a fusion of experimental and jazz music and the music of other cultures to produce an extraordinarily distinctive sound through his trumpet playing through complex electronic processing. Joining for an inaugural collaboration are local electro-acousticians Stuart James and Lindsay Vickery, projecting instrumental flourishes amidst spectral sheets of sound. All this supported by local experimental harpist Catherine Ashley performing new music employing improvisation, extended technique and acute sonic detail.
Babushka is upstairs at the Leederville Hotel.
