CONCERT 15
EL CAMINO

In the spirit of El Camino de Santiago

For centuries pilgrims have walked to Santiago de Compostella. This concert recreates an imaginary pathway through the different Spanish regions in search of redemption. Central to this concert is legendary guitarist José María Gallardo del Rey, who bridges classical guitar and authentic Flamenco. The Song Company and the Festival’s Vocal Young Artists combine forces to perform works by the 12th century King Alfonso, the Finnish master Rautavaara and a new work by Gerard Brophy.

A pre-concert talk is planned for 5:30 pm by Luke Stegemann, Associate Publisher, Griffith Review.
