Raging soundscapes of outlandish fragility and overwhelming ferocity.
8:30 : Maka Khan Raging power trio Maka Khan transforms into a ferocious muscle quartet for a night. Along with Maka Khan stalwarts Marcos Villalta (guitar) and Paris Favilla (sax), guest drummer Daniel Brates brings a new perspective to the zany compositions of Marcos Villalta. Mitchell Mollison alters the dynamic further by introducing an outlandish electronic element into the group's sonic landscape. http://makakhan.bandcamp.com/album/maka-khan http://www.mitchellmollison.com/
9:45 : Cycle~ 440 (WA) Cycle~ 440, based in Perth, is the semi-improvisational electro-acoustic duo of Sam Gillies and Kevin Penkin that fuses acoustic piano with extensive laptop sampling and processing to create alternating soundscapes of extreme fragility and overwhelming density. In an unlikely combination, the duo brings together Kevin’s love of Japanese game and anime music and Sam’s appreciation for the delicate ambient and extreme noise genres. http://cycle440.bandcamp.com/
