Event Details
Young composer Cyrus Meurant presents a concert of his solo works for synthesizer, solo piano, and electric violin. In conclusion he will be joined by saxophonist Andrew Smith to perform a recently composed work Constancies. Cyrus has a growing reputation for his theatre and dance scores, with works performed at The Place (London), The Theatre Basel (Switzerland), The Sydney Theatre, The Malthouse (Melbourne), NIDA and the World Shakuhachi Festival. He has composed works for The Melbourne Symphony, The Australian Ballet and Orchestra Victoria. The concert offers Newcastle audiences the opportunity to hear Cyrus perform in the intimate setting of The Playhouse before the premiere of his newly commissioned work Klash – presented by The National College of Dance with choreography by artistic director Brett Morgan, Civic Theatre, December 1st.
