Melbourne Prize for Music 2010 award-winning drummer David Jones showcases his artistry in an intimate solo concert. Drawing on his experiences travelling to the East, he combines Eastern metaphysics and sacred rhythms with the mesmerising showmanship of a drumming maestro.
David improvises around a stage strewn with more than 30 percussion instruments, including Tibetan and Japanese singing bowls, two drum kits and an African kalimba. He deconstructs the modern drum kit, revealing a hidden world of vibrational energy as ancient and sublime as it is powerful.
