Event Details
This concert celebrates the meeting of cultures in our global village. Hear the sounds of Mozart merging with Chinese folk music, jazz /popular with classical, Japanese with Australian, Balinese with contemporary art music, and Jewish-Yemenite throat-singing with aboriginal sounds and funk-based grooves. Featuring a world premiere by Australian composer Julian Yu, an Australian premiere by Malaysian composer Yii Kah Hoe and an original work by Boaz Modman and Brenna Wee, this concert promises to entertain, educate and take you on a journey into the many different ethnic and musical worlds that surround us. The programme also includes works by Stuart Greenbaum, Claude Bolling, and Anne Boyd.
