Event Details
Australia's wonderful Duo Sol were winners of the Grand Prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Trieste. The Duo has played throughout Australia and in numerous other countries, and has issued several CDs on the ABC Classics label, including one entitled Infinite Heartbeat.
The Duo is known for its wide repertoire and wonderfully varied programs. This one is a fine example from the beloved Spring Sonata of Beethoven, to the southern Spring of Astor Piazzolla. The program includes the first performance of a new work writted specially for Duo Sol by Festival Composer-in-Residence Stuart Greenbaum. Stuart describes his piece Falling By Degrees as "a contemplation of gravity in seven miniatures for violin and piano"
