Sydney’s legendary saxophonist Eddie Bronson is a highly versatile multi-instrumentalist with a wealth of experience playing in many music genres over the past four decades. Tonight, Eddie performs high-energy original, spontaneous, free jazz with two leading voices in Australian jazz – acclaimed bassist Jonathan Zwartz and versatile drummer Hamish Stuart. Expect uplifting, passionate and connected music as Eddie leads the trio through improvisation at its best.
One of the key musicians in the development of Australian modern jazz, pianist, composer and educator Judy Bailey’s performance history dates from Sydney’s legendary El Rocco Jazz Cellar to her current trio setting. Her current band includes talented bassist Craig Scott, a bandleader in his own right as well as a fellow educator at The Conservatorium in Sydney, and outstanding young drummer Tim Firth is well known to younger listeners – a great chance to appreciate Judy’s wealth of musical ideas, wonderful sense of dynamics and beautiful sound.
