Stravinsky Ebony Concerto
Grainger Lincolnshire Posy
The astonishing versatility of the wind orchestra is showcased in this many-sided program, comprising the subtle eeriness of the Concertino, Stravinsky’s restless jazz infusions, and age-old Lincolnshire folksongs both lyrical and martial. A new work by local budding composer Charles Wood is the finishing touch to a concert of shifting contrasts and complexities.
