Bennetts Lane residency curated by AAO's new Artistic Director, Peter Knight.
8.30pm, Thursday 1, 8, 15 & 22 August 2013 at Bennetts Lane Jazz Club (25 Bennetts Lane Melbourne VIC 3000).
The Australian Art Orchestra presents its third month-long residency, ElectroACOUSTIC AcousticELECTRO, at the Bennetts Lane Jazz Club. This residency will be the first concert series curated by our new Artistic Director, Peter Knight. The concerts will feature collaborations between the AAO and a diverse range of guest artists forming a different quintet each week and will feature some of Melbourne’s most exciting improvisers including: Paul Grabowsky, Scott Tinkler, Tony Hicks, Ren Walters, Judith Hamann, David Tolley, Dale Gorfinkel and Georgie Darvidis.
Peter Knight describes the music as "provocative, evocative, visceral then calming, but always richly textural," and is looking forward to working with "an extraordinary group of musicians, to bring together unexpected groupings and different approaches and see what happens."
