Event Details
Geomancy, Chinese calligraphy and archaeology understood as the buried and subterranean architecture of a world taken into the afterlife - all of these influence and provide the inspiration for Liza Lim's ecstatic composition Spirit Weapons for solo cello and The Quickening for voice and qin. Tonight's programme features the brilliant Australian vocalist Deborah Kayser and also includes texts and readings by poet Yang Lian, compositions by Michael Finnissy, Newton Armstrong and Jeroen Speak.
Featured non-Australian music: Jeroen Speak: Episeidos for Eb clarinet; Michael Finnissy: Hinomi for solo percussion
