Event Details
To enjoy music, one must employ more than just the sense of hearing. Without necessarily realising it we use sight, touch and often even smell when listening to and experiencing music. Australian composers have long been inspired by the vast array of natural riches found here in Australia – birdsong, frog calls, the bush, the ocean and even the sky. In this eclectic trio program for flutes, clarinets and percussion Ensemble Offspring delves into the remote and the mysterious; the persistent and the striking; the ecstatic and the sweet with works by esteemed Australian composers Ross Edwards, Andrew Ford and a brand new work written especially for the group by newcomer Holly Harrison.
Featured non-Australian music: Oscar Bettison - Vamp, David Lang - lend/lease
