An evening of music, contemporary and traditional, Japanese and Australian. Music in the round - unplugged & intimate. Featuring shakuhachi Zen meditations in new contexts; powerful songs by Noriko accompanied by shamisen & violin; a new choral work by Anne set to haiku by Issa; transporting works for violin & voice; shakuhachi & viola... and more!
Program includes:
Tamuke in a new duo format for two shakuhachi
Shika no Tone in new arrangment for shakuhachi, flute and violin
Sakura and Shimauta for women's choir
Jongara-bushi and Otachizake for voice & shamisen with new accompaniments
