Take a wild ride through the New World as Firebird Trio explores trios by Sebastian Currier, Leonard Bernstein, Paul Schoenfield and Benjamin Martin. Featuring two Juilliard School composers, Sebastian Currier's Verge (a past winner of the prestigious Grawemeyer Award) and resident pianist/composer Benjamin Martin who presents the World Premiere of his rhythmic powerhouse Ragtime for Piano Trio. Schoenfield's infectious Café Music is infused with jazz and folk roots, and sits playfully alongside Leonard Bernstein's early yet iconic Piano Trio. Firebird welcomes to the program the brilliance of clarinetist Paul Dean, and the virtuosity of Guest Violin, Dr. Curt Thompson
