Event Details
Originally made famous by their string quartet covers of songs by Metallica, The Beastie Boys and Nina Simone, FourPlay have spent 21 years refining their skills as composers, improvisers and arrangers, radically extending the string quartet form into whole new unexplored territory.
The last few years have seen them in an ongoing collaboration with blockbuster author Neil Gaiman, with whom they have toured venues like Carnegie Hall and the Barbican.
FourPlay's latest album This Machine is their first to feature only original material. For Unashamedly Original they will showcase works from this album and a number of unrecorded gems, never before heard in Sydney, bridging styles from blues-rock to folk-pop to filmic art music, taking audiences on a musical journey like none other...
This performance is part of Unashamedly Original, a two-day festival of multidisciplinary performances that push the envelope of sight and sound, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July.
