Event Details
Adelaide-based pianist Gil Sullivan has been lauded as “the finest interpreter of Mozart in the world’’ (Sudhessen Woche, Germany) and is one of a small handful of pianists worldwide who have the entire works of Mozart in his repertoire. He has performed to a full-house at Carnegie Hall and continues to tour regularly throughout the USA, Europe, the UK and Asia.
He will be performing a programme that covers three centuries of music: from Mozart and Liszt, to Australian Tristram Cary who famously wrote music for BBC TV’s Doctor Who series in the 1960s.
Marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Franz Liszt, Sullivan will be devoting the second half of his recital to the composer’s dramatic and powerful piano works.
Featured non-Australian music: Mozart, Liszt
