Last year the AFTRS presented Glories of the Score, in association with the Australian Guild of Screen Composers. Curated by Martin Armiger, the event booked out quickly and featured live performances. Glories of the Score II returns on Monday, 22 October with four new composers: John Gray, Jessica Wells, David Barber and Damien Lane.
Each composer will talk about their work on a particular project, paying attention to the process whereby an idea becomes a musical event, which then becomes a score, as part of a soundtrack. There will be live music on stage showing the original shape of the music and filmed excerpts of the final films. To be introduced by Martin Armiger (pictured above at last year’s Glories of the Score) with commentary by Edward Primrose.
