The Glyn MacDonald Trio spare not a wayward note on their journey through realms of stage, studio,composition and beyond. The musicians have collectively performed all over the world including Vancouver, Rome, Japan and Australia. The Trio welcomes home bassist Sam Anning who has been a trio member since 2000. Sam is now residing in Melbourne and has been performing with some of the greatest international and Australian jazz musicians including Joe Chindamo and Paul Grabowsky.
Having collectively performed with jazz greats such as James Morrison, Terrell Stafford, Gary Bartz, Harry Connick Jr. and Jamie Ohlers, the musical pedigree of their work continues to be recognised by peers, industry and audiences alike.
Consisting of Sam Anning (bass), Michael Perkins (drums) and Glyn MacDonald (piano) the Glyn MacDonald Trio draws influence from diverse ends of the musical spectrum. From classical through to Latin, and coupled with a knack for infectious toe-tappin’ swing, their collective works rest comfortably on a bed of groove-oriented originality.
