Don't miss in-demand bassist Tom Botting's debut as a bandleader for Jazzgroove. Tom will be presenting a set of original compositions born from his continuing quest to find melody everywhere. His compatriots, comfortably some of the best in town, shall endeavour to assist, arouse and distract him. Come see what happens.
9.30pm – Hannah James Trio (Hannah James – double bass, Casey Golden – piano, Ed Rodrigues – drums)
Drawing inspiration from the next generation out of NY and Europe, this band strives to put its own spin on the piano trio format. The trio, with 2011 Jann Rutherford Memorial Award winner Hannah James at the helm, will be test-driving material for their new recording. They’ve been creating some serious waves up and down the eastern seaboard of late- come see what the fuss is about!
