Beautiful contemporary chamber music with soul and passion

The image of three-year-old Aylan Kurdi washed up on a Turkish beach became a symbol of the human tragedy unfolding on European shores during 2015, a result of the war in Syria. He was not the only one…

Margery Smith’s latest piece Humanity Washed Ashore encapsulates the struggle between peace and war, oceanic life and death, history and the evolution of civilisation.

Hourglass presents beautiful, meditative, passionate, ethereal works featuring harp, discussing our connection with each other and to the eternal, with works by Vieuxtemps and Kennedy. Alongside, they premiere energetic jazzy Latin vibes of Happenstance and the Muse, by Australia-Chilean Daniel Rojas, and the dynamic magic of Prokofiev’s Flute Sonata.

One of the most incredible chamber works of the 21st Century appears - Techno Parade, the virtuosic stunner by Guillame Connesson. There is a revival of a classic sonata for flute and harp by Colin Brumby, named "Exotic Dances", and reworked for clarinet and harp.

Finally be roused to dance with newly crafted versions of Australian folk songs, Botany Bay and The Wild Colonial Boy
